This action seems to be largely in response to the impending closure of Cody&#8217;s. <\/p>\n<p>However, David Lazarus expresses <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?file=\/chronicle\/archive\/2006\/05\/28\/BUGF8J34TB1.DTL\">skepticism<\/a> about the City Council&#8217;s plan in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?file=\/chronicle\/archive\/2006\/05\/28\/BUGF8J34TB1.DTL\">San Francisco Chronicle<\/a>. Lazarus suggests that the City Council is only working on a short-term fix, and he proposes the more radical idea of transforming the four-block stretch of Telegraph near UC Berkeley into a pedestrian mall. <\/p>\n<p>Andy Ross has been in talking with investors interested in saving the store.
